Welcome to the June edition of the Greentec newsletter. This month, we are excited to share how we are making a real difference, from empowering Indigenous communities with donated technology to launching innovative battery sorting technology that advances sustainability. We also want to thank everyone who connected with us at the recent OASBO Conference. We look forward to continuing these important conversations. As always, Greentec remains committed to providing secure and sustainable IT asset disposition solutions that protect your data and the planet.
Greentec and Makhos Inc. Donate 100 Devices to Support Education in Indigenous Communities
Greentec, in partnership with Makhos Inc., is proud to have donated 100 refurbished laptops, tablets, and phones to support learning at Kikendaasogamig Elementary School, local university students, and the Salvation Army Trades Start Program in the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation.
This donation is part of an ongoing initiative to bridge technology gaps in Indigenous communities across Canada. By providing reliable refurbished devices, Greentec and Makhos are helping to foster educational opportunities and economic growth while advancing sustainability through the circular economy.
Greentec remains committed to closing the digital divide one device and one community at a time, ensuring equitable access to technology while reducing e-waste.
Spotlight on Innovation: Greentec’s New Battery Sorting Line
We are excited to share that we recently launched a best in class battery sorting system for consumer batteries (cylindrical cells). To ensure safety and proper handling, this system is run by dedicated Greentec staff members. In addition to sorting precision, a real time monitor displays common battery chemistries processed and allows us to refine our process. Chemistries including lithium, zinc, alkaline, Nickle Cadmium and more are identified through X-Ray imaging before being automatically sorted into UN Rated containers.
What can be sorted? Lithium-Ion cells from laptops, Battery Backup System (UPS) Lead Acid batteries. Coin Cells, Cylindrical cells (AAA-D), etc.
Combining smarter technology, skilled staff and sustainable practices, Greentec continues to lead the way toward a greener and cleaner future...one battery at a time.
Thanks for visiting us at OASBO 2025!
A big thank you to everyone who stopped by the Greentec booth at this year’s OASBO Conference in Huntsville! It was a pleasure connecting with school business officials from across Ontario and sharing how we support the public education sector with secure, sustainable IT asset disposition and e-waste recycling solutions. A big congratulations to OASBO’s new President Viraj Trivedi. If we didn’t get a chance to speak, or if you’d like to continue the conversation, feel free to reach out. We’d love to connect!
